Upcoming Cycle Tours and Training Camps
With the Trans Afrika Bike Race starting on the 2nd of October that’s our last race for the year and its back to cycle tours and finding spots in South Africa that are not only good for cycling but have attractions that interest us all. Lesotho is a wealth of culture and diversity; it’s not always a kid holding his or her hand out. We have found some great places to visit and guides to help us show you the sites and sounds of Lesotho. The HATC and the Dash around Fouriesburg Tours visit Lesotho.
The Free State has always been underrated, but we have found some great riding both for road and MTB in the Free State, whether you’re training for an upcoming race or want to cycle with your mates and have a good time we have the tour for you. Our tours include transport from Johannesburg, food and drink, accommodation, medical support and my famous muffins. You do not have to put your hand in your pocket once.
January 2017 will see us hold a High Altitude Training Camp in Lesotho. It will be hard and tough, but you will be accommodated in luxury and looked after like a Tour rider! Massages, medical support, food, drink, accommodation and transport are included in the HATC.
The Dash around Fouriesburg Tour is from the 3rd to the 6th of November 2016. We will be visiting Lesotho and good old Moteng Pass again. The tour will take in some of the sights that Lesotho and South Africa have to offer along with some of the nicest cycling you will find anywhere. The tour includes transport from Johannesburg, luxury accommodation, all food and drink, and vehicle back up. Medical support. Bookings are available here .
The Free State ride will take place from the 1st to the 4th of December 2016. Riders will be transported to the outskirts of Johannesburg and travel the district roads of the Free State enjoying the wide open vistas and fresh air that the Free State has to offer, but that we don’t normally know about! The tour includes all transport from Johannesburg, food, drink, accommodation, support vehicles and medical services. Bookings are open here.
We will be holding a High Altitude Training Camp in Lesotho from the 25th – 29th of January 2017. The camp is limited to 10 riders. The benefits of HAT are well known and this camp will set you up for your racing season. The camp includes transport from Johannesburg, accommodation in luxury chalets, food and drink, medical services and massages for those weary legs that will be a bit broken. Bookings available here.
We will be conducting various training camps up to the Durban Dash DOWN in April 2017 and the 1000 Miler, Karoo and Free State Dash races next year. We will post those dates in the New Year.
Safe riding and we hope to see you soon.
